Chapter Programs & Info

A little Chapter History

The Central Michigan Chapter of the Harley Owners Group was founded in August 1987 under the sponsorship of W.R. Miller Harley-Davidson Sales and Service of St. Louis, Michigan. Since that time, our membership has grown from 25 members to over 200.

In July 1994, the dealership was sold to C&S Sports Center in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. Jim Stovak is now our sponsoring dealer.

Annual Dues

Dues are $20.00 per year. New members get their 1st year free. The annual period is January through December. We have a grace period of March 1st. After that time your membership will be cancelled.

Event Pin Program

We have an event participation program. At the end of the year, Event Pins will be awarded to those attending 15 of the 24 meetings/designated events. These are noted on the official Calendar. Those attending all 24 meetings/designated events, will receive a perfect attendance award in addition. When you attend a meeting or an event, you must register with the Chapter Membership Coordinator so you can record your attendance in the record book. It is your responsibility to make sure you have been properly registered in the book.

You may also want to keep your own records, just in case.

Note: If dates coincide, the following count in place of our events.

 1. Daytona Bike Week
 2. Sturgis Rally
 3. State, Regional, National and International H.O.G.® Rallies
 4. Primary Officer Training

Be sure to tell the Membership Coordinator if you attend any of these coinciding events.

Mileage Merit Program

This Chapter Program is voluntary and requires it's participants to have their odometers read by a Road Captain or by C&S Sports Center staff. The only other requirement is that you attend at least 3 Chapter meetings and 3 Chapter events. Proof of mileage such as a new bike or a work order is also acceptable. Beginning mileage needs to be read April 1st or later. Ending mileage must be read on or before November 1st. We consider this our riding season in our area.

Note: If you can't get your mileage read April 1st, you can bring it to our April Meeting. Same goes for November as our meetings are always the first week.

Mileage goes with the rider, not the bike. If you ride another member's bike for 100 miles or more, you will have to keep track of that mileage. Deduct them from the mileage on the other bike and add them to yours. We are relying on the honor system for this one.

If you have multiple bikes, you need each odometer read if you want to use those miles. Top mileage winners will have their names added to our Chapter Mileage Merit Plaques on display at C&S Sports Center (Ladies of Harley and Central Michigan). First and second place winner will also receive individual plaques.

Our chapter also reports total yearly mileage to H.O.G. for the entire chapter. Keep track of your yearly mileage (Jan thru Dec) and report it to the Lead Road Captain.

Don't forget the National H.O.G. Mileage program. To enroll, go to the H.O.G. Members site, log in and click on "Enroll in Mileage Program". You get a H.O.G. Mileage patch/pin and additional "mile" patches/pins as your mileage increases.
